 How does it differ from laser treatments?

Both modalities have been widely used in surgery in that both also serve the same purpose of treating skin problems as well as removing unwanted hair. A significant difference between the two is the coverage. Laser beams are narrower and cover small areas at a time. IPL coverage, on the other hand, discharges a broad wavelength range allowing various areas to be targeted concurrently. Also, lasers produce light only of a specific wavelength, whereas the IPL emits a broad spectrum of wavelength for multiple targets. IPL is able to treat all skin types no matter how light or dark including tanned skin. Lasers are restricted to treating lighter skin types only and pose a significant risk of burning to darker skin. Eg mediteranian and above.

 What areas can be covered in the treatment?

IPL treatments can be performed on all areas of the body except the eye area.

 How many treatment sessions are required?

The number of sessions required for IPL treatments varies. Since a complimentary consultation is conducted before treatment, you will know beforehand your individual course of treatment. Some may even require treatment once a year. But, typically, we only recommend you to undergo between 6-8 sessions for optimum results.

 What do I need to know after the IPL treatment?

  • After the treatment, you must stay away from direct exposure to sunlight
  • Always use high-quality sun protection with an SPF of 30+;

  • Do away with strenuous exercises wherein heavy perspiration is expected

How long do the IPL treatments take?

We can treat some areas within 15 minutes. Others, such as the back or legs, may require 30-60 minutes.

What results should I expect from IPL skin rejuvenation?

Yes, the selective band of wavelengths emitted from the IPL, target pigment to destroy the P-Acne bacteria, without the requirement of any topical chemical agents. The light also stimulates collagen production to help resolve the acne scarring.

 Can you treat the hair on my back where I have a tattoo?

There is a possibility that the hair removal hand-piece may also cause some removal of pigment and potentially fade the tattoo. Hence it is not recommended to remove hair on areas which are also tattooed, unless informed consent clearly identifying the potential to fade or completely remove portions of the tattoo is authorized by you, the client.
